Okay you all, I know I’ve been away from this space for quite awhile, and I’ll be updating you as to why I’ve been absent in a post soon. Although I was planning to do that post first, I had to jump back into the blog with this one because IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN…the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here!
I often get asked how to shop early access and what items to look for that will sell out quickly. I’ll guide you through the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and how to shop early.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and How to Shop Early
Early access starts July 12th for Nordstrom card holders. The sale opens to the public Friday, July 20th. Wondering if you should get the Nordstrom card to access the early sale? In my opinion, it’s worth it, as many styles sell out quickly. You can sign up for the card right now! Want a little more info about the sale? Learn more from this post. Alright, now that you’re ready, let’s get to shopping!
This year, I’m shopping the sale as a conscious consumer. What does that mean? It means I’m looking for well-made items that are durable and closet staples. Apparel and shoes I link won’t just be good for the fall. They will be wearable through most of the seasons. I’ll be focusing on bringing you items that are eco-friendly, give back to charity and made in the USA. Why is this important? Because I’ll be helping you find clothing and accessories that will last and be worth your hard earned money.
Click any of the links or images above and below to get started! I’ll be putting together photos and reviews of what I bought soon. And, be sure to visit my blog often these next few weeks, as I’ll be sharing more finds and updates throughout the sale!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Conscious Consumer
Recently, I decided to start supporting brands that:
- focus on sustainability and ethical practices
- give proceeds to charity
- make their clothing in the USA
Now, you might be thinking Nordstrom doesn’t fit into those categories, but you’d be wrong…
They offer environmentally friendly apparel, shoes and accessories. With brands like Reformation and Eileen Fisher, Nordstrom makes it easy to shop eco-friendly products. To find these products, type “eco-friendly” or “sustainable” into the search box on the Nordstrom home page.
Giving Back to the Community
Treasure & Bond, a Nordstrom brand, will donate 2.5% of net sales to organizations that work to empower youth. As an educator, that’s definitely a charity I’m happy support! I bought the cutest flannel from this brand during last year’s sale and am eyeing this one this year!
Made in the USA
I spent quite some time scouring the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog to find clothing made in the USA and I found a lot! These Frame denim, Paige jeans, Sea top and pants, and this Thread and Supply pullover are all on my list. Nordstrom carries a ton of items that are USA made. I’ve linked them all here.
Pants and Denim
I always buy a few pairs of denim during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They are a staple that will last a long time and the discount makes them affordable in my book. I usually purchase a classic pair a black pair an on-trend pair. I’m also loving these high-waisted button up jeans.
I always stock up on some basic tees, which are great for layering under sweaters or wearing during the summer months. Tuck in the front half of your tee for a different look. Or, even better, knot it at the front. Loving this varsity sweater top and this flannel. For work, this blouse makes a statement.
Sweaters and Blazers
Always a must for the fall! Although right now the last thing on your mind is probably a sweater. But trust me, in the cooler months, you’ll be thankful to have something cozy already waiting for you in your closet. I’m liking this cardigan from Treasure & Bond. Mens wear is a big trend this fall and all things menswear plaid. This blazer fits the bill!
Jackets and Dresses
If you don’t have a leather jacket and have been eyeing one, now is the time to invest! I own the same brand as this one and fits true to size. This pleated dress will look great with booties for the fall and with slip on sandals this summer.
As always, thank you for shopping and supporting playing dress up all day by using the affiliate links above!
