About a year ago, I sorted through jewelry from my middle school and high school days. Amongst the fake jewels and friendship bracelets, I found a few velvet chokers. I remember shopping for them at Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe and Claire’s back in the day and LOVING them! Looking at them, I thought to myself, “I will never wear those again!” and tossed them into the trash. Well, fast forward a year, and guess who’s back, back again? No, not Eminem, but the beloved choker trend. Some are still fitted tightly around the neck, but there’s also a new kid on the block- the bolero choker.
The first time I saw the bolero choker on a fellow blogger, I fell in love all over again. Immediately, I started my quest to find one. I googled choker, tie choker, ribbon necklace…nothing appeared. I started losing hope, but then, in Denver, I found THE ONE! Flora and I walked into a cute little boutique called Shea and as we were about to leave, I saw the perfect bolero choker. I fell in love and never thought twice about my purchase.
The bolero choker looks great with an off the shoulder top and I also love wearing it with a t-shirt. Sometimes, I wrap it around my neck once and let it hang long, or I wrap it twice or three times and tie it in a bow. It’s a great accessory because the possibilities are endless! I really think everyone should try this trend and to help you find the perfect one, I put together a look book of my favorites. Let me know which is your favorite by commenting below!
